Mindful-Based Stress Reduction workshops right at
the office
Healthy employees help make a business successful.
The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program
This workshop teaches strategies for successfully
managing our lives and the stress in them.
Mindfulness is being aware, learning to live and
BE in the present moment. By seizing the
present and living fully within each moment as it
happens, one can reduce anxiety, improve health
and job performance, achieve inner peace plus
enrich the quality of life.
We are often hurrying from place to place, from
task to task. We think about tomorrow, next week,
and next month, but rarely about the moment we are
in right now. Night time comes and we do not know
where the day went. Pretty soon we do not know
where the years have gone.
Many times as our bodies are fast in motion, but
our minds are elsewhere. We go into what is called
“auto pilot”. Think about when you are driving a
car. How many times, when you arrive at your
destination, do you wonder, “How did I get here”?
Our minds are consumed with thoughts about what we
have to do, how to do it, what will happen, what
he did, what she said, etc. Often times these
thoughts are negative, i.e. worries, fears,
doubts, etc.
This takes it’s toll us physically, mentally and
emotionally.
When under stress:

Our hearts beat faster. |

Additional adrenaline is produced. |
 |
Breathing becomes shallow. |
 |
The functioning of our immune and digestive
systems is inhibited. |
 |
The flow of blood to our extremities and
internal organs is decreased. |
Frequent stress can damage the
body, often leading to discomfort or pain. It is a
contributing factor in many if not most disease
processes. Stress can lead to greater
susceptibility to illness, infection and
nutritional problems. It can manifest as high
blood pressure, changes in blood sugar, ulcers,
headaches, hypertension, colitis, depression,
anxiety and heart disease, just to name a few.
The workshop is tailored to fit
the specific needs of each organization. It can be
presented as a one-time workshop of between 1 and
4 hours. The workshop can also be presented in a 1
hour weekly session. This weekly workshop has
worked well during the lunch hour.

This will be conducted over the telephone.
Executives will be able to access the workshop
from the convenience and privacy of their office.
